Altared Prays

“Let them praise His name with the dance; Let them sing praises to Him with the timbrel and harp. For the LORD takes pleasure in His people; He will beautify the humble with salvation.” Psalm 149:3-4

Altared Prays is a group of youth between the ages of 8 – 13 that have a desire to serve the Lord through the gift of interpretive dance. With their passionate portrayal of the words of the songs to which they perform, they can cause their audience to “see” the songs as perhaps they have never done before.

The name - Altared Prays – is a play on words with a deeper meaning that helps the team maintain their focus on why they do what they do.

“Altared” - means that the team members have been “altered” through the admittance that they no longer serve the world and are preforming for an audience of One. Their use of the “altar” has transformed, or “altered” them so that they can effectively be used of the Lord for His purpose.

“Prays” – demonstrates that they are “praising” the Lord through their portrayals, but only through the effective and fervent “prayer” are they able to do what is pleasing to Him. Combined – Altared Prays – is a summation of an effective outreach ministry with the desire to draw people to the Lord
